Painting from life is the best thing you can do for your artistic practice no matter what genre of painting you enjoy! With the plein air painting season just around the corner, this weekend intensive of direct observation will cover the basics of plein air painting from the comfort of the studio... AND most importantly you will work from life. Using simple still life set-ups, Maria will guide you through a series of techniques used in her field work. Touching on sketching, composition, application of paint, understanding light and shadow, and how to use warm and cool colours, you can hone your painting skills to work quickly and efficiently...just as you would outdoors in changing conditions. This will be a full 2-days of painting replicating the outdoor experience!
